
Constance Marie Lopez (born September 9, 1965)[1] is an American actress. She is most well-known for her roles in George Lopez (2002 - 2007) and Marcela Quitanilla (mother Selena) in Selena (1997). She played Regina Vasquez's character in ABC Family/Freeform drama series Switched at Birth (2011-17). She is currently in Camila Diaz in the star of the Amazon Prime Video drama series Undone (1999). Marie started acting when she was when she was in her teens. In 1988 she scored her first role in Salsa. Other credits on film and television include Early Edition and Dirty Dancing, Selena and Spin City and Ally McBeal. Marie was selected for the role of Angie Lopez in ABC's comedy series George Lopez. Marie appeared alongside Jacqueline Obradors, Hector Elizondo and Elizabeth Pena in the 2001 comedy-drama Tortilla Soup. Also, she was a part of the PBS drama American Family. The line of clothing she launched was "The Constance Marie" in October 2007. [2] She was also included in an ad campaign by PETA that urged people to spay or neuter their pets. Between 2011 and the year 2017, Marie had a starring role in the drama series on Freeform and ABC Family called Switched at Birth, portraying Regina Vasquez, the birth mother of one of the girls and legally the mother of another.
