Clarkson was born in Burleson (Texas) which is which is a suburb located in the vicinity of Fort Worth. Her vocal talent was recognized at seven years of age by the school's choir instructor. her school. After graduating high school, Clarkson was sent to Los Angeles to try to be a part of the showbiz. When she returned to Texas, she became one of the contestants on the debut season of FOX Broadcasting Co's American Idol, a singing competition that allowed viewers to select their top performer. Clarkson was well-liked by viewers for her stunning voice and sense of humor. Her prize was one million dollars and she signed a recording contract with RCA.
